Asian grocery stores and supermarkets stock ingredients, snacks and household goods that general American supermarkets often do not carry, organized by category rather than by country of origin in most stores. Produce and live or fresh seafood sections are usually at the back or side of the store, and weekend mornings bring the largest crowds and freshest restock. Many larger Asian supermarkets include a hot deli or food court counter selling prepared meals by the pound or as fixed plates, useful for a quick lunch while shopping. Labels are frequently bilingual or untranslated, so store staff can usually help locate a specific ingredient if you ask. Cash, cards and mobile pay are all commonly accepted at larger chains; smaller specialty shops may be cash-preferred.

The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. Typical hours are 9 am–8 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Zee's Supermarket at (517) 887-0264; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Lansing is in Michigan, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Lansing follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

This place has come in clutch for me multiple times! Sometimes it’s hard to find certain Asian fruits and vegetables, specifically more southeastern Asia. We’ve been looking for fresh Mangosteen for months. We’ve found it canned or in juices but never fresh. We learned that it’s hard to import and very fragile (they don’t ship well). We happened to stumble across it today! Such a lucky and rare find! All in very good condition. Another lucky find was green papaya! They have a large selection of meats, fruits, vegetables, spices and a decent frozen section (meat, seafood, breads, vegetables) β€” we personally picked up a big pack of frozen paratha. I had to dig around for the Kasoori Methi (fenugreek) but found a 3.5 oz bag for $1.99. Definitely worth checking out, especially if you’re looking for something you’ve had a hard time finding.

This place is great, it feels like a nice intermediary between wholesale and retail with a selection of both bulk and small international products, some fresh produce, great frozen seafood selection, and lots of staple Ingredients and sundries. I love the calm comfortable atmosphere of small grocery stores, and this is going to be a regular stop for my household.

I stopped by Zees Store in Lansing on Thursday and had a great experience. The store is clean, well-stocked, and easy to navigate, which makes shopping quick and hassle-free. What really stood out was the excellent customer service. The cashier was polite, efficient, and handled customers professionally even during a busy time. She made the whole checkout experience really smooth . It’s always nice to see staff who stay calm, organized, and friendly under pressure. Overall, a solid store with good service. I’ll definitely be coming back.

3 stars for high variety of foods. Minus 2 stars for some of the food being moldy like the longan I bought. The pomelo I bought ended up being rotten inside. Customer service needs some work. The girl cashier on Thursday night was rude/curt/inattentive. She also charged me full price for 50% off mangoes and let me miss some of my items as I walked away because she was on the phone and they were rushing me out because it was near closing. When I came back the next morning to pick up my missing groceries and fix the 50% charging error with my reciept, the other girl cashier kept saying I could get more stuff from the 50% section instead of giving me half refund to account for 50% mistake. Edit (4/3/26): thank you for responding. For clarification, the longan fruit was not bought from 50% off discount counter. It was full price and was already molded by the time I opened it same day. The picture I took was me trying to salvage what I could through the days but to no avail. Also, do not worry, because I got more mangoes instead of the refund. I do not know why she did not refund me, but I technically did get compensation with more fruit, so I do not think I should get my refund too.

Lots of fresh produce and international food items for African, Carribean, Asian and middle Eastern cuisine... at great prices! For instance, their avocados are cheaper than those I got at Kroger. Highly recommend!
